This event was born as a revival of a historic rally held since 1973 for 28 consecutive years, then interrupted due to a serious accident. The sporting event, which has always remained in the heart of the Biella area, has come back to life thanks to the foundation, last year, of the LANA.ALIVE Rally, a cultural association for the return of the race to the local roads with modern rally cars.

The start and finish of this year’s car race took place in the suggestive Piazza del Battistero, the pulsating center of the town, creating a magnificent contrast between the quiet of a historic location and the roar of the handsome racing cars.

At 21:30, after an initial presentation by Corrado Pinzano, president of the LANA.ALIVE Rally, and the intervention by the mayor of the city, the car race began: 223.67 km in total, with 7 special stages timed for 72.85 km.
The most suggestive remains that of the ascent to Oropa at night illuminated by the light of the headlights and the moon. The other six sections took place on Sunday between Rosazza, Tracciolino and Netro.

The 7 specials had 3 different leaders and 4 different test winners, but Elwis Chentre and Elena Giovenale grab the title of absolute winners aboard their Skoda Fabia R5 PA Racing, giving their best in the second triptych and also taking advantage of the mistakes by the opponents, including spins, outs and tire punctures. Theirs is a victory of great value that brings the inscription of their name in one of the most prestigious rolls of honor in Italy.

The event was framed by the Rally Village in Piazza Duomo, the Rally Lana Legend with the exhibition of the most extraordinary rally cars, including the sensational Hyundai i30 N TCR of the BRC Racing Team with the 2018 world champion WTCR Gabriele Tarquini, and the Rally Party on Saturday evening after the start.
